Samson’s Riddle

The answer was: What is sweeter than honey, stronger than a lion?

Another question. So what is sweeter than honey, stronger than a lion?

The Lamb.

I heard him speak to me as I passed by. I heard Him call to me from the Hiding place, “Come and be still, crouch down now behind me, wait and see. The Lord gave me a vision of the Lion of Judah, crouched with all His muscles bulging in preparation to spring into a full run, from His hiding place. I saw that it was sunset over a Sudanese landscape and the lion was majestic, how stately a portrait this would be if He were to pose? But, at this moment the Lion was postured for the kill. He had his eye on something I couldn’t see. I rushed past Him and crouched behind Him as he called out to me to do so. His eyes were fierce and fixed on this enemy who seemed to have me in his cross hairs. His attention was so focused He didn’t flinch a muscle when I slid behind Him in His hiding place.

At any moment (I felt) this predator who had me at my heel was about to become the prey … His head to be crushed in the jaws of a great and powerful avenger.

Some how my now was then, the day of the cross, where the bleeding lamb became the predator’s worse nightmare.

How he waited for His moment, how he gauged it, how He listened for the Fathers voice cry out, “Now!” How he sprung forth and tore him down! He drug this liar across the dry ground, through the dirt he was destined  to crawl in. He took him down. The great Lion drew the hellish flow from the liars dead vein and brought out the captive, released captivity itself. Set the prisoner free!

The stale air of dungeon forever gone!

The heavy air of sin, crushing guilt, lifted!

The lashing of accusing tongues, washed. Washed a way are the wounds,

A sweet and fragrant ointment, soothes away wounds memory, peace is now in its place.

Joy has come in this great and wonderful morning!

Colossians 2:8-19 (Amplified Bible)

See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men’s ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).

For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature]. And you [a]are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead–Father, Son and Holy Spirit–and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].

In Him also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, but in a [spiritual] circumcision [performed by] Christ by stripping off the body of the flesh (the whole corrupt, carnal nature with its passions and lusts).

[Thus [b]you were circumcised when] you were buried with Him in [your] baptism, in which you were also raised with Him [[c]to a new life] through [your] faith in the working of God [[d]as displayed] when He raised Him up from the dead. And you who were dead in trespasses and in the circumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions,

Having canceled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared [e]completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross. [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].

Therefore let no one sit in judgment on you in matters of food and drink, or with regard to a feast day or a New Moon or a Sabbath.

Such [things] are only the shadow of things that are to come, and they have only a symbolic value. But the reality (the substance, the solid fact of what is foreshadowed, the body of it) belongs to Christ.

Let no one defraud you by acting as an umpire and declaring you unworthy and disqualifying you for the prize, insisting on self-abasement and worship of angels, taking his stand on visions [he claims] he has seen, vainly puffed up by his sensuous notions and inflated by his un-spiritual thoughts and fleshly conceit,  and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the entire body, supplied and knit together by means of its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.
